Acrojou, ‘The Wheel House -A rolling theatre show
The Wheel House ~ A rolling theatre show.Devised & created by Acrojou, Directed by Flick Ferdinando.
Beckett meets Heath Robinson meets The Wombles meet The Road…
A gently comic dystopia, set in different time where everything has a new value, and endurance relies on sharp eyes, quick hands, and, above all, friendship.
Join these traveller-gatherers on the road to nowhere: treading lightly, surviving quietly, and always, always moving onwards.
Originally commissioned as a walkabout by Without Walls in 2008. Funded for further development in 2011 by PANeK & Applause, with which support The Wheel House
has been recreated as a full show.
Stunning design, beautifully choreographed acrobatics, and breath taking moments of risk, all housed within an exquisite, hand-built structure. A moving piece of visual
theatre from Acrojou, one of the UK’s leading emerging Circus companies.
Formed in 2006 by Artistic Directors Jeni Barnard and Barney White, Acrojou have so far created six original shows, toured work to nine countries and performed to nearly 60,000 people.
Man-Made Ski Dubai, the world’s largest snowdome, at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
More than seven years since it opened, Ski Dubai at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai remains one of the most unusual attractions in the UAE. Billed the world’s largest Snow Park, it sprawls over 3000 square meters of artificial snow. Temperatures here are set at -1°C (about 45 to 48 degrees lower than the desert heat outside).

Chillout Cafe in Dubai, the region’s first ice lounge
the Chillout Cafe in Dubai, the region’s first ice lounge. Honeymooners and other tourists from the parched Gulf countries are making a beeline here to cool off and get closer. The interior decor of Dubai’s Chillout cafe is made entirely of carved ice, with frozen picture frames, ice curtains and frosty seats covered in fur. Owned by UAE’s Sharaf Group, the cafe is lit with multi-colored fluorescent lights and the temperature inside is a frigid 6 degrees, about 40 degrees lower than the torrid desert air outside. For 60 dirhams apiece (US$ 16, INR 895), visitors are allowed to stay for 40 minutes and served one hot drink. They are also kitted out with thermal jackets, boots and fur hats provided by the cafe in a striking similarity to the ice hotels which dot Scandinavia in winter. The newly opened cafe draws about 100 visitors every day.

Barbie Dreamhouse ,10,000 square foot pink paradise of plastic, opened in Sunrise Florida in the Sawgrass Mills Mall
Barbie The Dreamhouse Experience, a 10,000 square foot pink paradise of plastic, has opened in Sunrise, Florida.
The world’s first ever life-size replica’s of the plastic toy’s Malibu beach house allows Barbie’s most ardent admirers to live out their girlish fantasies in the sprawling dollhouse.
Every little girl’s dream of inhabiting the world of the all-American doll can now become a reality in the interactive experience, a joint venture between Barbie’s manufacturer Mattel and EMS Entertainment.’The Dream House was built in less than a year, using more than 20 pounds of glitter and 100 gallons of pink paint,’ Florida real estate agent, Kathy Hyatt, wrote about the exhibit.
May 8th, 2013, was the Grand Opening of the much anticipated Barbie Dream House located in Sunrise Florida in the Sawgrass Mills Mall. The kids and I have been looking forward to this for quite some time and we were not disappointed.
For those who don’t know, the Barbie Dream House® allows People from all around the world to literally step into “Barbie’s World” and see her Real Life Malibu Mansion up close and personal. It’s Awesome!
Some interesting facts I learned, was that the original Barbie Dream House® debuted in 1962. There are only 2 Barbie Dream Homes in the World! One in Berlin Germany which is quite large at 25,000 square feet and the other is here in South Florida located in the City of Sunrise in the Sawgrass Mills Mall and this Dream House® is 10,700 square feet in size. The Dream House® was built in less than a year, using more than 20 pounds of glitter and 100 gallons of pink paint. The builders and designers of Dream House® did a wonderful job with respect to an incredible attention to detail everywhere you look.
The pink Barbie fun begins with the receipt of a precious bracelet, which is essentially the magic key to enjoying the attraction. The key’s clever RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identification) that helps personalize your tour and allows connection with the interactive stations and photo opportunities.
